Today starts a series of blog posts on “Emergency Preparedness” at Hillsdale Christian Academy. We are all too familiar with the reality of the importance of security in our schools.
What security measures does Hillsdale Christian Academy take?
Hillsdale Christian Academy has organized, systematic plans in place to reduce risks and prevent or prepare for a crisis situation. Our school staff has been well-trained on how to effectively act and react in any situation that might arise. There are specific plans in place for emergencies like fire, tornadoes, threats, and intruders.
Security cameras are installed in all classrooms, hallways, and common areas. The main entrance to the building and all hallway entrances require a pass key for admittance. Monthly safety drills are conducted so both students and teachers are ready in the event of an emergency.
Hillsdale Christian Academy is thrilled to provide the spiritual and academic needs of students in Citrus Park, Westchase, Carrollwood, Lutz, and other communities around Tampa Bay. Yet none of this is achievable if the environment and facility do not meet the same standard from a life and safety standpoint.
Stay tuned in the weeks to come as we cover specific areas of security. We will give you ideas on how you can talk age- appropriately with your child about school safety.
